Auto union 1000 sp 1963

The 1000 Sp (Sp for Spezial) is a two-seater sports coupé produced by the German company Auto Union. The 1000 Sp was unveiled at the International Motor Show in 1957 and was produced by Baur in Stuttgart from 1958 to 1965. A total of 5,004 sports coupes were manufactured, making this car a rare sight today. Starting with the 1962 model year, both the coupé and the roadster were given rounded rear fins. Additionally, starting with chassis number 4,360 (March 1962), disc brakes were added to the front axle, along with a mixed lubrication system. Like other Auto Union models, the 1000 Sp also received body reinforcements for the attachment of seat belts. This 1000 Sp is in a restored and very neat condition. The car’s history is fully documented and verified thanks to invoices from 1966–1990. The original service booklet contains stamps from 1963–1973. The car was sold by the previous owner in 1979. The second owner sold the car in 1991, and the third owner in 1993. All owners were from Berlin.
